Wash Cloth Cat & Dog


MATERIALS:
1 plain colored washcloth
1 regular size bar of soap
scraps of red and back felt
pins, various colored sequins
#30 white crochet cotton
narrow ribbon in a contrasting color
needle and thread

DIRECTIONS:
Fold washcloth in half and mark with pins. Start at the outside edge and roll tightly to the center. Pin in place. Roll the other side to center, making 2 rolls. Catch stitch to hold together. Set bar of soap on edge. Starting at the bottom, pin washcloth to soap at 1/2" intervals. Fold the extra part of the washcloth for the head. Tie ribbon bow around the neck. (See diagram below).



For the dog, cut black felt tail and fasten with a pin, pointing down. Cut ears of black felt and pin in place. Use pins to fasten sequin nose and eyes in place--a red nose and green eyes. Cut red felt tongue and pin in place with red sequin. Ears on dog hang down.

For the cat, cut tail of black felt and pin in place, tail pointing upward. Cut ears of black felt, pin in place, ears pointing upward and forward. Use green sequins for eyes. Cut ten 1 1/2" loops of white crochet cotton for whiskers. Tie in center, cut at ends of loops. Pin in place with a pink sequin.
